THE RISK OF BLOSSOMING – PRACTICES TO REMOVE THE TARNISH OF THE MIND

There are no pre-requisites for rest. You don’t have to be burnt out, you definitely don’t need permission. You don’t have to be sick, you don’t have to have been hauling ass for 7 years… before you deserve it. Rest is a basic human right. Practice can help to create the context, for factoring in more high quality restoration into our lives, so we aren’t procrastinating as a way of steeling rest. Practice is a multi-faced mirror, a remedy & a roadmap for when feeling lost. It is a space for making sense of what seems senseless… it is a nourishment at all kinds of levels. Every big beginning has its start is some kind of pause, some moment of stillness. Make space for this, for yourself, so to begin the growing of your deepest dreaming. The biggest hurdle is just starting. Even the most immaculate bloom has a dirty beginning, and the evidence of small beginnings are found in the big magic everywhere: in the oak trees, fallen leaves, new grass, in every hole in the ground, in the scent of skin, in healing herbs, in the rain & dust & moon, and in the magnificent majesty on the inside of each of us. Every moment is either a distraction or an inspiration and its your dedication that leads the way. So keep doing you, because there is no confirmation number in this process of awakening. Become an auteur of improbable victory. Everything is possible even if it hasn’t happened yet. Like the flying fish, defying what we believe to be possible. Keep taking one leap of faith at a time, and with each leap of faith, you are building a launching pad for what is next, as you beam for the future.

HAIKU – QIGONG GATHERING

Turn your heart toward the mystery and meaning found in your warm breathing body, moving by its own law, soft and intimately connected through every atom, opening from cell to cell to cell, become a natural reservoir of grace. Inhaling the articulations of ancient templates and maps embedded in your ecosystem, in the legacy of your limbs, in the hieroglyphs of your hair and DNA. Let the practice be a Haiku, reviving your instincts, allowing emptiness, for every gesture a safe passage into an unapologetic, inimitable wildness that has everything to do with your subtle body intelligence, and the unique codes that make you – You. There is an an ecstatic dignity, an opportunity to belong, to the flow, to the breath, to the inside of the form and the outside of the form. Ultimately we use shape to find our shapelessness, to remove the tarnish of the mind, and to pass through the door, into infinite spaciousness. Uncomplicated, unimpeded, relevant, & poetic we are, particularly when we are alert and restful in our essence self while expressing. Fill the bellows of your lungs with energy, pour hope into the bones, harmonize the polarities, and transform your lead into gold. Marinate in your intrinsic biology, your unstructured anatomy, that pre-dates any of the stories or experiences that keep can keep a person identified with the so-called solid body. You are the stillness inside of all movement. You are the unchanging in all changefulness, emptiness is your natural state. Move so as to return to your own primordial lap, and to the great cosmic vault, where every original instruction is written, in the form of sublime sensations, upon the walls of your inner belly, and in the part of you that knows, without the mind. Happy inside yourself… let this truth sing from your bones.

ROOM WITH A VIEW – ACTIVATION SET

We’ve all been traveling our whole life to get to this moment. This moment can be the moment, when the inner pilot light ignites. ELEGANT LIFE FORMS – OPEN FORM QIGONG GATHERING

Once change comes, it often comes in multiples, ranging from easily handled small changes, to the great ones that can become unwieldy. When this happens it can scatter our forces, making it harder to achieve order & staying power. There is, however, a calm center to everything. Even a tornado swirls around a calm eye. Most calm places are very small, but even a small cell of tranquility can become a seed for greater peace. Utilize this choreography, to find the still point that revolves with you, wherever you go, & in doing so, turn toward wonder, & the quiet formation of contentment. Explore the way you move when you are woven into the web of being. Measure out as much balance, as you can, for yourself, by caring for the qi you have inherited, and qi you are consciously accumulating through the practice of clean living. Thich Nhat Hahn spoke about the human manic tendency to avoid the painful places in our lives. We avoid, avoid, avoid, and if we can toggle into the polarity, which is embrace, embrace, embrace, then we can hold space for the healing and transformation, that is housed in the practice, and embedded in the terrain of daily life. The holding of this inner space, is what allows us to know grace, even when things are immensely imponderable. In the movement from personhood to presence, we get to the truth of who we really are. Through somatic inquiry & investigation, an alloy is developed in the spine, malleability of mind becomes available, & a deep feline-like quality of contentment is embodied. These techniques are expanders, that create a coherence between head, heart, hand, and Hara. When these connections are alive, then victory is your creation, and joyful living is your reality. Get to the why, under the dance. Use your practice to get very clear about what you must fulfill, before you leave this life, so you can then behave accordingly. Pull out of the fast lane, and take a turn onto the slow roads, opening to the gentle places that bridge the heart and head. In IP, we utilize movement to communicate with the brain, in the way it was built to be communicated with. In even a brief practice, the conditions are created, for make billions of spontaneous neurological connections. Explore nuanced variations, that initiate a revolution of elevating hormonal shifts. HOLLOW BONE – PRACTICE FOR FINDING THE EDGE OF NEUTRAL

Between stimulus and response, there is a nano-second, wherein the master’s touch can enter the room of your mind. It is an open space through which universal and fundamental truths come flooding through, so existence can play us more beautifully. On either side of the head are temple doors to access this caliber, and the key to the door is that which you adore. In this session we empower the oxytocin to flow, by measuring the breath, for what gets measured, gets managed. Information overload, unrelenting stress, constant change, the gravity of uncertainty, and the bigger, faster, more mentality of the modern age, are all contributing to what is possibly the biggest challenge of this time: Cold Depression. Cold Depression is slippery and elusive and something all its own, and therefore different from acute and chronic iterations. Nearly everyone out there is in the numbing grasp of the cold depression, to some degree or another, because of the nature of reality. A person experiencing cold depression doesn’t necessarily seem depressed, or even recognize oneself to be depressed. It is not a personal challenge, it is a wildly inclusive phenomenon, that is touching a massive swath of the world’s population, and it is occurring because we are in an era of epochal transition. One of the many many contributions that Aristotle made to humanity, was the idea of the Entelechy, which is an incredible allurement, when we let it be so. Just imagine your understanding of patience, your welcoming of silence, your ease with joy, your ability to feel the deepest grooves in the human experience. Just imagine your profound connection to the whole of nature and the rhythmic cyclicality of beingness. Even just simply turning your attention toward this, as a possibility, can get you feeling connected to something bigger, something higher, something wiser, and something that is within you, fully, now. In this practice we soothe the nervous system, and melt into the embodied elegance of the entelechy. These are practices for taking that leap of faith, into an expanded perceptual reality, into the elongation & extension of your breath’s capacity, & into the activation of your aspirations. Go into the inside of your inside, into the movements that stir your depths, feeling for the shoots that call you into expression as a steward of continuity. Find your signature pleasure, & your primal creative voice. See beyond the particular ways life has trained you… and welcome in another way, that is not so other, and that involves no othering. Find your myth, and the story your consciousness really wishes to tell, every time you think or speak.

FEEDING THE WINDHORSE – PRACTICES FOR INNER VASTNESS

For the past many years, on this long walk to freedom, I have kept the tandem concepts of Windhorse and Drip, in the pocket over my heart. These are ideas that have emerged from the rich history and culture of the Tibetan people, and when abided by, will lead the practitioner toward an experience of uncluttered liberation. The Drip represents all the ways in which we are stagnating or loosing energy. Drip shows up in all the messes that needs attention, as an absence of accountability, as the pile of procrastination, as the apology that hasn’t been expressed yet, as the secret stash of addiction food. The drips keep us from being vibrant, alive, and here now, in the magnificence of fullness. Each of us have some kind of drip, and we must attend to the drips in order to get into the Windhorse energy. This is the front-facing, embodied state of strength, inspiration, & ability to run– free of obstacles, aligned with future responsibilities, & in synchronicity with the goals & visions that are calling. There are boundless ways to nurture the windhorse state, imbuing ourselves with wellbeing, and fueling a prosperous attitude. Every time we take time to practice, we feed the windhorse, we raise the energy of freedom, we expand, & we break the shell of habituation. Use the practices inside this session, to cultivate an elevated relational dynamic with inner and outer vastness, like the wide open tundra, like a mind as big as the sky, & in a powerful landscape for your windhorse to be in its elemental flow.

RESILIENCY – FOR GIVING LIFE TO LIFE

This month we have been spotlighting upon focus, efficiency, & resiliency, as some of our primary muse points. Whether through the work of the breath, internal gazing, a qigong flow, sound current, or integrative thinking, it’s all geared toward getting us set to mobilize… to do what we say, and to say what we do, and to have enough energy reserved that we are resilient. Resiliency in, our context, is the experience of having a longer fuse, it is the quality of being anti-fragile, so when life rubs up against us, we are less inclined to protect, defend, and wither at the post, and more robust with taking the action steps, and rising to the occasion of the moment. In the mantra practice found inside, we set up the inner conditions for soothing & slowing down, and for toggling from the sympathetic nervous system into parasympathetic dominance, in a deep and heart-felt manner.

THE UNCOMMON BRANCH – PRACTICES FOR CULTIVATING THE OBSERVER

Each of us have two birds within, the first of which is the busy little bird, building the nest of life. It is the taking care of good business bird, the generator bird, the mobilizing, manifesting, get it done bird, busy with the world of ten thousand things. The second bird, our uncommon bird, is the observer bird. How easy it is, though, to be so driven, at one hundred miles and hours, into the pinnacle of every point of purpose, that we forget it to even be there. In this practice, we fly up to the uncommon branch, where the second bird is perched, taking in the slow & complete design of existence, from an elevated angle. To observe is to witness the reality of what is, not what we think should be, or what we wish would be, but what is, as it is. Observation doesn’t include thinking, it doesn’t involve comparison, it is free from judgement, it requires no additional information, and had no desire to eliminate anything either. So, in that way, we can rest & digest, even if for only a moment, as the observer, in a kind of unborn awareness, with timeless wide eyes to see.

FLYING IN FORMATION – MEDITATIONS FOR INCANDESCENT TRAILBLAZERS

Whether we are in a building together, working virtually in the same city, working across state lines, or across continents, we are a collective– which is where the individual and the whole intersect. Like geese flying in formation, we are woven together with an invisible thread, connected to every other, and drawn powerfully forward. Geese fly 75% faster and further when in formation, working the journey together. We are the transition team, the flight pattens are underway, and the aliveness that each of us brings, matters– as we overcome, heal, and sew new pathways in the story of our future. LIFEGUARD PRACTICES – FOR CAPACITATING CAPTAINCY

This is a beautiful set of gentle practices designed to remind you that you are a renewable resource, that you can capacitate captaincy, and that you can raise the energy of freedom, from within. These are Wei Qi Practices, which have to do with the energetic flow that guards your life-force, and your life at large. This is most certainly a time for ramping up that frequency. When we feel sufficiently resourced, inwardly, and can identify our axis, then when life pulls us off center, which it will do, consistently so– we find we have the skills to drop back into our nucleus– faster, and more effectively. When you have this kind of self esteem, self command, and self exhalation, you can more consistently hold the attitude that everything can be re-programed, from your metabolism, to your skin, to clarity, productivity, & joy. Everything is moving, and you are the captain. Even if the current program that is running inside you, was written in a less than optimal way, it can be re-configured. This year has held countless transitions for each of us, and each transition has left a kind of transit line or pattern in our perceptions, on our faces, & in our beliefs about what is possible, or what lies ahead. The clarity that practice grants you, will always be your helpmate, so life’s transitions won’t haunt you, rather, you become the creative carrier of transitions, holding them as formative lines in your destiny design. Enjoy this conscious injection of Focus: for piercing through subconscious, collective, and epigenetic programs around your health, prosperity, and fulfillment.

Your attention is the currency of this age. let these few minutes pull your attention inward, out of the scrolling, out of the device, out of the hyper agenda, out of the news, and into your life, and the exquisite reality of what is happen within, capacitating your captaincy, so you can steer with sovereignty. We know that 21 days is the minimum threshold, in neuroplasticity, and so when you find yourself resonating with a particular practice, give it your all for 21 days, do the thing for 7 minutes a day, ( or more if you can!!! ) for 21 days, and see how it clears you out and cleans you up, and cultivates a refinement of skill. May you experience a quiet confirmation of your heart’s sublime perfection. May you get a glimpse of a fog-less, focused, deeply wakeful state of mind. May you experience shapelessness within the shape of your body, formlessness, within the form of your being, timelessness, within this time of practicing together. During this time of year, when the setting of intentions and resolutions is pervasive, let us remember the good clean advice of Benjamin Franklin, when he said: ” Be at war with your vices. Be at peace with your neighbors, and let every year find you a better human.”

For the first qigong gathering in this new year, our muse point is FLOW, which is key ingredient in attaining and sustaining health and optimism, physically & mentally. These practices will cultivate a vibrational fitness that will turn on the lights of your mitochondrial integrity, & mainline vitality and life-force all the way down to your smallest baseline. Be a student of flow and lift your frequency into transparency. Lauch, Repair, Rejuvenate, & Accelerate, as you Floss through the fascia, chainlink the qi, and connect everything within you, to everything. This fluid form of movement poises us perfectly to free fall into the present moment, in the same way that we fall asleep, or fall in love, we can free fall into the flow. All of life is about frequency. It governs how you catch and apply the opportunities and revelations that show up in your life. If there is any presence of resistance in the body or in the mind, it will effect your frequency, & reduce the way in which flow can inform your life. The good news is, that as our bodies mature, through the aging process, and as our essence ripens through practice, we rarely become more rigid, almost always we get softer, and thereby more powerful, because of our competency in navigating the flow. Many of the subconscious, collective, and epigenetic patterns that keep us feeling stuck begin to dissolve, as we flow and grow. When we offer our bones to the flow, we get to the original genius underneath the mantel of distractions, we can take refuge in our authenticity, & we can re-create ourselves, at all kinds of levels, that feel relevant and right. There are some stellar one liners, extracted from centuries old Chinese medical teachings, that illustrate the necessity for this flow. Lines like: “The reason the teeth are falling out, but the tongue is not falling out, is due to lack of movement and movement.” The teeth, which don’t move, are prone to decay and loss, however, the tongue, which is our primary muscle of communication, is always moving, and therefore, doesn’t decay and fall out. Another old pointer goes: ” You will never find a worm in the hinge of a door, but still water cultivates poison.” Both of these teaching simply put, are telling us, that if our aim is longevity and vitality, we must stay dynamic. Where there is an absence of flow, there is a greater likelihood for pain, where there is flow, there is less likelihood for pain. Use this flow to oxygenate and focalize the pre-frontal cortex of your brain, the part of your brain that gives you agency, and rehabilitates negative impulses. Flow is a state of simultaneity, wherein you feel comfortable enough to be in the rest and digest part of your nervous system, activated enough to clear the waste, and challenged enough to experience the transformation. Be patient, like the bamboo. When a bamboo plant is put into the earth, it can look at great length, like nothing is happening, so much so, that it might look like the plant is stunted– until one day, when the conditions that have been cultivated, are just so, the bamboo will begin a quick ascent upward in its growth. and the same thing happens with us. Much like the bamboo plant, when we practice with committed repetition, at a certain point the magic begins to arise, and we find an internal fusion that helps us live strong, live long, and love life, abundantly. The Upanishads say that the butter is hidden in the milk, likewise, awareness resides in every being, and to discover that, we need to constantly churn the mind toward clarity.

GRAND CONJUNCTION NIDRA MEDITATION

Dear Friends, this is a remarkable time to tune in around listening and breath. Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, the most Yin day of our entire year. It is a rich time to grow still, to let yourself become one with the night, and to turn toward the light. Tomorrow is also a truly historic day, regarding what is happening in the panorama of our sky, as Jupiter and Saturn will appear 0.1 degree apart, which is the closest they have been observed, by the naked eye, since the year 1226. If ever there was a year when we needed such an incandescent affirmation, on the horizon, certainly this year is it. May you take some extra time, during this time, as our wheel is turning, as oscillations of awakening allure us to the threshold, to dream with our earth and our cosmos, and to honor the power of connection, on the path of evolution. A few quiet moments for making meaning of this year’s echos. Grab a blanket, lay back, open your heart, listen, & feel. Let your own attention create an orbit of refreshment, in this guided meditation. Let your heart relax into a belonging, into the great mystery of being, in a state of consciousness that is neither waking, sleeping, or dreaming. A state wherein tissue repair becomes more readily available, wherein anxiety can recede, and the sound of creation can be heard within your own sentience and serenity. This is a gentle session designed to cut through any caught-upness that may be standing in the way of your feeling fully steeped in loving kindness, gratitude, & connection. BREAKTHROUGH PRACTICES – RECONFIGURING BYPASSES & BIASES

Inside of this session, we move through a set of practices designed to break through the facade of our bypasses & biases. These practices create a burning intensity in the biology, & in the way chi is configuring within, so that habituations, mental loops, and all the various traps & catch-cries we linger in, (for longer than is appropriate) can be identified and transformed, effectively. There are countless ways we try to knowingly and unknowingly mask our deficiencies and insecurities, or to circumvent responsibility. Or, what about all the ways we allow external predictions to guide an outcome, while we are numb on some level, scared to be magnetic, or hesitant to keep our hands on the ball. The list is lengthy, and we unpack just a few of these bypasses that may be biasing your journey of growth. CLEAR STATE – BREATH WORK FOR A PLANETARY RITE OF PASSAGE

We are moving through a planetary rite of passage, of titanic proportion. The darkness has emerged from its hiding place. It has stepped into visibility,and is directly challenging us. It is even seducing us, to contract our minds into overwhelm, pessimism, shock & despair. We must rise to the occasion, and go all the way to the root, rather than simply rearranging the deck chairs. We each carry within us, an un-dreamed of luminous creative agency, that we previously did not know to be available. Last week I heard a Mark twain quote that says ” Eat a live frog first thing in the morning, and nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day.” I thought it to be brimming with humor, and relevance regarding our relationship to practice. We have a responsibility to drop our camouflage– to take the vitality, charisma, and clarity of vision, that our practice gives us, and to live openly, brightly, and forthrightly. We are in an era of extinction, and we must participate, actively, in the regeneration, renovation, and reconstruction, of a new way, a new human, and a new world. We have to hold the torch high, and find the prism of belonging, of this time. May this choreography of dynamic meditations leave you lit from within, as it sensitizes the kaleidoscope of your outlook. EVERYDAY COURAGE

This week we have been taking a big experiential lean into the Courageous Heart, into what Brene Brown calls ordinary courage, which is different from the modern-day definition of courage, as being a heroic quality, rather, going into an everyday kind of courage that allows us the show up in the field of life, in all the ambiguities and blessings that are showing themselves, and to Be Present. There are countless causes in our world today, that lead us into mind attacks, those moments and experiences when we feel overtaken by a sudden tsunami of anger, overwhelm, fear, or a feeling of being numb and our of touch with the beauty and mystery of being alive. Practice is a context, within which liberty and relief are found from those moments that steal us away from the gift of now. Practice show us the heart of this moment, that we can only experience once. Inside this session, we work with a sustenance practice, including the Mandala Mudra and the Be Present Breath, as a way of getting inside ourselves, and entering the current of courage in our hearts. Entrance into the human heart isn’t alway the peaceful sound of silence we are entrained to believe it will be. Often the sound of entering the heart is excruciatingly loud, a massive roaring of diversified emotions and experiences, but also to be heard, is the sound of the Presence of Love, right there within us. Carve our a few moments to take in this attunement. There is an old saying that goes– if you have time to meditate, meditate for 10 minutes, if you don’t have time to meditate, meditate for an hour. Courage is a heart word, the latin root Cor, means to speak one’s mind by telling the whole truth of the heart. May this energetic, physical, and emotionally aligning practice tune the instrument of your heart, so you can tease apart, and discern between, the fears that keep you from living, and the fears that keep you alive. EMPTY FORCE – MERIDIAN QIGONG

In our present-day, western culture, we are very much accustomed to Brute Force. In the work of IP, we endeavor to understand and apply the ancient taoist approach of Empty Force, which is the polarity or Brute Force, for it has the potential to be an antidote for many modern maladies. Rarely in our waking hours do we come in contact with, or have an experience of emptiness. Many of us fear that if we place value on emptiness, we will become lazy or our work will loose its value. The truth is, if emptiness is one of our values, our work increases in value, everything we are responsible for and attending to, can be done more efficiently, joyfully, and with greater focus. The moments we spend in emptiness give us back hours of tranquility. Your somatic practice is one inroad toward awakening, and as far as I’m concerned, your awakening is the greatest gift you can give to humanity, this year, in this season of giving. Tune into this qigong gathering, to develop your relationship with emptiness, and the courage found in an open heart. SMALL THINGS NICELY DONE

We need ‘be present’ practices more than ever before. With all of the rocking and wave making that is going on, we need to get our sea legs on land, and stay stable in our anatomy, so to show up in a way that is sturdy. In this session we acknowledge the directive of Elizabeth Gilbert, when she said one of the most effective ways to stay productive, joyful, and to not go insane during a pandemic… is to do small things nicely. We are getting committed, as a community of practice, to braiding our souls to what it is that keeps us feeling on purpose, full of life, and inspired. The smallest unit of energy that we work with, in Integrative Practices, is Prana, Qi, Life-force, & Breath. When we do breath work, we become blue-print technicians, capable of creating fertile ground for whispering in change. Tune in for some restorative techniques, that revolve life energy up and down your spine, & throughout the tree of life that is your brain & nervous system. These practices will patiently and potently harmonize all the systems of your body, and both hemispheres of your brain.

ENVIRONMENTAL CURATION

In this session we spotlight on the art of finding fulfillment, contentment, and incorruptible joy, through presence and the power of focus. SNAKE QIGONG

Inside this gathering, we tend to one of the most needed and potent spotlights for this season: Presence. These ‘be present’ practices will help us to stay unconditionally embodied, as we move with the collective inevitables, and the transmutable destiny of humanity. We are each working with some iteration of partial attention deficit disorder, due to the way our world is currently working. Even a very few short moments of tuning into your qigong state of mind, can eliminate the distractions and pull you into the center of your center. Give yourself the gift of arriving in the address of your body, free from any depressive tendencies from the past, free from any anxiety about the future, and fully here, present — in the meaning, momentum, & majesty of a moment that can only be inhabited once.

CLIMB INTO THE CHRYSALIS

Tune into the frequency of your mind, which is like a radio station, that you are emitting & projecting. It is an art of noticing, to observe kindly, from a place of beauty, honesty & bravery, the reality of what is within. As practitioners we want to have a lot of wherewithal, fluidity, and literacy with the intricacies of our frequency, of naming it, and having the tools for changing it, when wanted or needed. Our individual frequencies cannot be found anywhere else, and our entire life has been preparing us to host this unique vibe. The universe is picking up and responding to what your frequency is, so if your vibrating fear & shame and guilt, your going to attract more of this, & if you are vibrating joy and love and abundance, you are going to attract more of that. These Exhilerants will help you in projecting a current of clarity, on the ordinary. Climb into the chrysalis of these practices to activate the metamorphic, alchemical reversal, that gives us the eyes to see opportunity in the crux of the crisis, because beauty can often be found in the dark places. Just when the caterpillar thought its world was coming to and end, it discovered itself to be a magnificent butterfly.

During this time of me giving you home practices, it is my hope for you, that you are becoming a truly empowered self healer, by grounding deep into your embodiment, emotions, & the undivided purity of your heart. Here is a soothing qigong flow that will consolidate your body into the earth’s grounding. Feel the ground meeting you, as a friend would meet you. Feel the air around you, meeting you as a friend would, in a way that helps you meet the moment in truth. Our bodies are often so exhausted, due to all the articulation and consternation, of being human beings, who are doing so very much. Qigong is the virtuosity of loving awareness, pervading & permeating every living cell in your body. It is the middle ground between activity and passivity, and one of the most effective ways I know to regenerate hopefulness, to steel up the spine, to fly the kite of the mind, in an open sky, and to be at home with who we each came here to be.

GALVANIZING QI

Meditative tech for harnessing the role of your lymphatic system, regarding internal alchemy, and immune integrity. Your lymphatic system plays a massive role in your immune system, and these simply, yet powerful forms will catalyze the cleaning of your lymph, which is your internal body of water. These are circumvent force practices, which fortify what’s called the radiant shield, and when it is working with you and for you, you can actually conserve, concentrate, & consolidate your Qi, rather than use it to protect or defend in the face of illness or in the fire stream of a divided world, which means more energy is available for your constructive, creative endeavors. Inside this gathering we spotlight upon the parts of our psyche and our soma that have experienced trauma or have been carrying the tenderness of the ages. Trauma is the greatest challenge we are working with, as individuals and in our collective constitution. Unlock your neutrality with these gentle but effective dynamic techniques. They will help you get into the underbelly of your subconscious, transformatively so. In the work of awakening we must activate our potential, we also need to follow our bliss, but we also have to do the trauma work, of taking hands with where we are tender, & honoring our blisters, even when it seems like there is 1008 better ways to spend out time, it has got to happen, period. While in the panorama of practice, we can heal all the way down to the bottom bone, so the old pain patterns that used to run the show, run out of fuel, giving us a perceptual, emotional, & biochemical shift that lets us choose peace more regularly, freely, and from a place of conscious effortlessness. Every time you meditate, you become a kind of blue print technician, or an inner alchemist, committed to the chore of reducing the reasons for being numbed out, so that big leap across the chasm can transpire, and you can discover yourself to indeed be a light house in the fog. Energy is ethical, all you have to do is ask, and it will show up, because practice and energy are alway entwined. With repetition, through practice, we can possess a peace that is inviolable, & incorruptible, & that is inhaling through us, no matter what the external circumstance may be. These meditations will clear the clutter & incessant mental chatter, they will balance the tattvas, which are the elements of your being, so you can be less defined by duplicity, and more aligned with resiliency.

ROBUST DIGNITY – GUIDED RELAXATION & GONG MEDITATION

During this especially potent time of practicing in the heart of a pandemic, it is so necessary to turn toward what is unchanging and stable within, so to cultivate the inner resources that can successfully steer us through this sick cycle. So many of us are experiencing exhaustion, from articulation & consternation, enjoy this guided relaxation and gong meditation, to consolidate the day, in the body, and to consolidate the body into the earth, so to then intimately participate in the world from a place of inner quietude, and robust dignity.

SOFTENING INTO WHOLENESS

Your personal home practice is a magnificently potent terrain for working through the wounds that have amassed from life’s journey, and reconfiguring how their imprints are stored in the tissues of your body. Inside this session we create a safe environment for helping, holding, and warming our most tender places, with a technique for sustained transformation, in this very realm. Everyone out there walking around has some kind of ‘master wound’ that was almost always picked up during a childhood experience and has been hitching a ride on the underbelly of the subconscious mind. If we don’t face, and love open these childhood traumas, our ‘master wounds’ then we run the risk of them become crazy makers, potentially causing a crass, cold, indifference in our outlook, in some way or another. Use the sound current to be an architect of your own self-mastery. When I use the term self-mastery, I’m not inferring that we are aiming to become flawless and perfect at everything. In the context of this work, when I say self mastery, I’m alway pointing to the inner disposition of staying teachable, because there is a revelation of some sort, in every living moment. When the tender places soften back into wholeness, then our addictive, self-soothing behaviors, such as over caffeinating, incessant social media scrolling, etc. (which are unconscious ways of seeking that “I”M OK” feeling) loose their magnetic attraction, and the energy that way going in that direction can be steered constructively. Inside of every living human is a seat that is undisturbed, a sanctuary that has never been dismissed, violated, abandoned, or judged, a place that is always whole. It has been my experience, in my own somatic & sonic research projects, that when we are willing to walk humbly in the direction of this unconditional, inner seat, it is alway waiting there for us, wanting to welcome us in warmly. It’s there, inside of you.

Take a few moment to tune into the parts of your being, your psyche & soma, that may be feeling tender in this time, from the journey of life, or the experience of trauma in our collective constitution, or… some confluence of the two. The forms in this set are designed to steer the energy of worry toward the strength of your innate warriorship. When we honor the wound, by helping and holding our human fragility, and the opportunity for transformation, that it points to, the wound can drop back, and yield to a blossom, a blessing, & a becoming. As practitioners we are architects of a revolutionary loving awareness. Loving Awareness: it is a field of neurogenic presence, wherein, a process of re-storying & regenesis, can arise from the underbelly, reviving your reasons for saying Yes in the face of challenge. Our discomfort, is a master teacher, when we can use our emotions, feelings, beauty, & bravery to sit with it, in full honesty, for as long as it takes, to feel the gift. Shake off the numb, warm up the parts of you that have become indifferent, and slip into the space between stimulus and response. The power place where your choice, growth, and freedom lie, is closer than you think, and has never left you, as Pema Chodron points our, ” We are one blink of an eye away from being fully awake.”

START ANYWHERE

With the way our current world is rolling out, having a robust relationship with one’s Creative Habit, can be an inspired way of staying at the ready, as we ride this tsunami of change. Interact with these power practices, and have an honest look at your energetic profit and loss sheets. How are you generating life-force? What’s in your windmill of worries? What grudges you are nurturing, that are hijacking your equipoise? Are you in energetic debt? Is a life-force deficiency stopping you from engaging with the creative riffs and raptures that make you feel fully alive? How can you compassionately tend to the leaks in the boat, become balanced, resourced from within, and available, when the generative muse summons. Every time you practice, it is a big opportunity, it is a kind of permission slip, for pitching power back into your life, so you can effectively re-invigorate when necessary. There is a pointing somewhere though, in the mess of it all, a message for each of us. In the modern western world of practice, there is a lot of emphasis on bypass behaviors, suggesting that simply chasing the light could be an option. The shadow always hovers as a reminder to us, to reside in the present moment, to be here now, and to use every challenge that arises in our field as a kind of compost, in the garden of our own becoming, to make for a fertile future, with a quiet mind as big as the sky.

We are learning so very many lessons in this time about the medicine of the broken heart. When we practice, we align with our human nature, and our native innate capacity to be drawn open, toward wonder, to give thanks as we look toward the adventure horizon of our boundless sky, and to simultaneously evaluate our underbellies, so as to see and know all sides of the story, and host the possibility for change. When I am personally faced with loss, very often times the self-inquiry question of ” Who is it that I am bringing to this moment? ” will arise. Am I bringing a broken or conditioned iteration of self, or am I bringing a full and even vulnerable, deeply alive, & immensely touchable version of my here-now self? In times of great loss, in times of bliss, and in the neutral times in between, as practitioners of this great way, we want to endeavor into uncensored straight talk, with ourselves and with each other. Who are we when we break the mask, drop the facade, unstitch the artiface & airs, and presence here now, in a way that enable us speak beauty repeatedly.

LIGHTHOUSE OF LOVINGKINDNESS

So much beauty and strength are available when we presence into the undefended moment, landing here, with nothing to hear, in the unchanging expanse of the limitless. Begin by feeling the revolving still point, the place, the space, the home base, the base camp, that we want to always be in touch with and be touched by, in the practice of life. Your life is your making, every moment matters, and the practice of conscious action, sets us straight so we can make each moment a boost, so that we can identify the wound, and make medicine by turning toward the brilliance. LOOK FROM HERE NOW

Every time we practice we are having a character rich conversation with evolution. Every time we practice we wield the sword of discernment, which is all about knowing our No, so as to Know our Yes, to understand the constructs of our personhood, and to Look from Here Now, in the realization, and reality of what is, enabled to call off the search, because what was being searched for has been found within, and what was being searched for is no greater than the one who searches. We are presented with a choice: to evolve or remain. To calcify in our comfort zones or to shed the armor & awaken to Love more effectively. The path begins the moment we incarnate and take to a body. A blossoming a breakthrough, some invitation, devotion or attraction gets us going in the right direction, building the mental structure for the Way, which wishes to arise. Every beginning is a good beginning, start anywhere. Feel the universe at your back Organizing around your success. • May we attenuate separation and engage inclusively as activist of compassion. May we accumulate merits as immeasurable as there are grains of sand. May we feel the ground beneath our feet and seat. Developing our hidden greatness, begins to arise when we say yes to our beginner’s mind, as an organic, arising, willingness. INNER NAUTILUS GONG MEDITATION

The experience we have inside our human body, and inside our mind, is somehow similar to the nautilus shell. The nautilus shell, which is a home for an animal of the earth, our body/mind, so too, is our home, and as householders, we need also be housekeepers, to regularly clean, re-organize, and realize that we have 100% access to clean spaciousness, any time, all the time. It is easy to feel compressed or confined in the smaller chambers of perception, inspiration, or embodiment. We have all had this felt sense, especially in this monumental time of transition, and all of its accompanying emotions. It has been my experience, that sound meditation, and particularly the infinite caliber of sound the gong creates, helps us keep energy moving in the right direction, to keep the emotions in motion, so they don’t become shadow or commotion. It is a key of light, unconditionally willing to open the gates, so the psyche can relax, so the heart can beat freely to a rhythm more ancient than any of us could conjure. May this meditation allure your awareness into the larger compartments of the inner nautilus, so it can unwind, expand & elongate. Meet every living emotion at the door, smilingly, even laughingly, knowing that they are each guests… visitors intending on growing you. As the shell moves through water, it is a kind of revolving still-point, and as we move through the turnstiles of these changing times, we can use our practice to help us know our center, even when the undertow is strong.

During this time of Quarantine, I am leading some Resiliency Sessions, where I bring you right into my home, so you can roll up your sleeves and get busy making some of the Renewal Recipes I find myself regularly talking about in my teachings. In the video above you will learn about the Simple Sattvic foods that I have been reaching for, over the years, to feel light and to attain and sustain balanced, radiant health. Food can be medicine and medicine can be food. Your nutritional portfolio is literally your first line of defense, when it comes to building blood and creating robust immunity, bite by bite, by and by, you become what you eat over time. If consumed regularly, these foods will help support your mind, refine your sensory system, soothe and strengthen your digestive fires, and make the tissues of your body more conducive for contentment. I encourage you to try these simple foods for fulfillment: for yourself, your family, and for whomever else you may be sheltering with at the moment. They are easy to make, inexpensive, easy to store back, and definitively high octane. Enjoy!!!

KITCHARI

INGREDIENTS:
– 2 cups yellow mung dal
– 1 cup white basmati rice
– 2 Tbsp. ghee
– 6 cups water
– 2 tsp. brown mustard seeds
– 3 tsp. turmeric
– 1.5 tsp. sea salt
– 3 tsp. cumin
– 2.5 tsp. ginger ( powder or fresh grated )
– 2 tsp. asafoetida 
– 2 tsp. fenugreek


DIRECTIONS:

rinse and soak the dal for 1-3 hours – add rice & water, bring to a boil, add spices, then simmer for 50 minutes on low. I like to add a bit of ghee straight into the serving bowl, so its good medicine is fully available. Kitchari can be enjoyed for all three meals of the day, it pairs beautifully in the morning with a bit of shredded coconut, and a touch of dried fruit, and for lunch & dinner it is amazing with steamed vegetables. Enjoy this high octane nourishment!

RAW MASSAGED KALE SALAD

– 1 Bundle of Kale 
  ( you can choose the variety,    there are so many glorious types to choose from )
– 3 Tbsp. organic olive oil
– 1.5 tsp. sea salt
– 4 Tbsp.organic lemon juice – or to taste

DIRECTIONS:– soak the kale leaves in a large bowl of water for an hour- strip the leaves off of the stalks- tear into desired sized pieces- whisk up the lemon juice, olive oil, and sea salt- pour over leaves and begin massaging the leaves with hands until it has  all reduced in size.

FIRE LEMONADE
INGREDIENTS:

– 1 Quart Jar
– 1/2 cup lemon juice
– 2.5 Tbsp. maple syrup
– 1.5 tsp. cayenne powder
– 2 Tbsp. chia seeds


mix & refrigerate for at least an hour before enjoying, to activate the chia seeds
